We really enjoyed our stay at Harbour View. The property is decorated and appointed to a very high standard and we couldn’t have felt more at home. Tracy, the owner, began our stay by providing us with a cream tea, wine and local goodies which were really appreciated. I can’t recommend the property, position and area highly enough. We will definitely return to this gem of a location and accommodation.
Beautifully presented house at the top of a hill that's steep, but still easily doable at a slow pace, and good after a meal! Some homely extras like mince pies, milk and wine were also provided, which was a nice touch. The open layout was perfect for us. There was a mix of DVD's to cater for different ages. A good thorough information book, which was very useful. The shower had good power, was hot, and easy to use. The whole house was amazingly clean. The main bed was too soft for me, but it is impossible to cater for everyone. The parking was very useful, and rare in Mevagissy. Overall, the stay was very comfortable, and we would definitely stay again.
Tracy is a great host. She was there to greet our party of four when we arrived, and took time to show us around and explain things. There were the ingredients for a gorgeous Cornish Cream Tea - 4 lovely big fresh scones, Cornish clotted cream and Mevagissey strawberry jam. There was tea, coffee and a bottle of milk, and a bottle of wine. I think this goes well beyond the call of duty!! There are great views over Mevagissey harbour from one of the bedrooms, which also has a an en suite bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable (which is unusual in somewhere you are staying in my experience), which our friends found too. The house is well-equipped with maps, guide books, DVDs and so on, though we were in and out so much we didn't get a chance to use them much. All in all, an excellent place to stay. The only guidance I would give to potential guests is to be aware that the walk up from the village is flat, until you get to about 300m from the house, at which point the route turns into Annapurna! That said, if you need to, you can always drive everywhere and the car parking space is right outside the front door. We loved it so much (house, Mevagissey, the local area, the local pubs and restaurants) that we will definitely be back. Thanks Tracy.
