In the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ideally situated to explore the many local Chateaux, historic buildings, Sparkling Wine Houses etc. The old town of Saumur is 20 mins away and Angers with its famous monthly antiques market on the 1st Sunday of each month is 35 mins away.
This charming 19th century house is made from the local tuffeau stone. It is situated on the edge of a Ville Fleurie, 600m from the banks of the Loire and has access to both shops and amenities. In the village, there is a small supermarket, two bakers, butchers. a doctors surgery. There are 3 restaurants, steakhouse/pizzeria and two bars. There is a larger supermarket within a 5 min drive. The village also has a weekly market and Tourist Information Office.
La Maison Tuffeau is a charming and tasteful restoration which has retained its original character. The entrance leads to a large hall and there is a large lounge with an original tuffeau stone fireplace and a 43" TV. A large dining kitchen with french doors leads onto the breakfast patio, where meals can be enjoyed in the sun or shade. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is a downstairs WC.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, a double and a twin bedroom, and a shower room with WC. Both bedrooms have retained original features such as oak beams and are spacious and tastefully decorated.
A separate ground floor bedroom with en suite shower room is located at the rear of the house with its own entrance off the patio, over looking the pool and garden area.
The house is set in large private enclosed gardens. There is a 11 x 4 mt heated pool with a simply operated electric cover with ample terracing for breakfasting and dining. There is private off road parking on the gated driveway. Garden furniture and a BBQ are supplied for your convenience. No smoking in the house. No pets. Linen is included.
All services included with the exception of heating.
Taxe de Sejour (Tourist tax) of 0.50 euros per person per night is also included.
The area has lots to offer with chateaux and gardens, vineyards, hot air ballooning and many beautiful places of interest with golf, tennis, horse riding, fishing and sailing available locally. Cycling is particularly popular and cycle hire is available locally.
Whether you want to relax in our heated pool and watch the hot air balloons float overhead and if you are lucky, watch them land in our adjoining field, or if you prefer cycling along the river bank from village to village or a leisurely float down the river by canoe enjoying the local culture there is something for everyone.
