Description

Seaview Cottage is located in the coastal village of Machrihanish at the south west end of the Kintyre peninsula, five miles from Campbeltown.

As befitting its name, the Cottage enjoys fabulous sea views up the West coast to the islands of Islay, Jura and Gigha and out across the Atlantic Ocean, next stop America..

Bring your family or friends over to this property, breathe in the fresh coastal air and enjoy a family day on the beautiful sandy beach, literally right on your doorstep.

Once you have parked up in the ample off-road parking space, and had a glimpse of the large lawned garden to the back of the house, head inside to find the homely setting that will be yours for the duration of your holiday.

Heading in through the back, find the utility room tucked in the corner hosting the all-important washing machine and American style fridge freezer with icemaker for chilled drinks

Enjoy the kitchen/diner, with lots of space to have all hands on deck when cooking up your evening meal, and enough seating for everyone when dinner is served later on, with breath-taking views onto the breaking waves and Western Isles.

In the snug sitting room you can light the wood-burning stove, a fantastic feature perfect for when the wind is howling outside - relax on the sofa and chill...

If you fancy a spot of seal or otter watching take your coffee through to the conservatory at the front of the house with its bird's eye view of the beach.

The Cottage provides three beautifully decorated and comfortable bedrooms, including two doubles and a twin room, with one of the doubles looking out to sea, while the others enjoy views over the garden and rolling countryside beyond. You will look forward to returning to the super-comfy beds after a day's spent soaking up the fresh air.

Indulge in a soak in the tub or a refreshing shower in the lovely bathroom to begin your day on a positive note.

The property's exterior has a beautiful lawned garden to the back, with a dining area to enjoy Al Fresco meals when the sun shines

A two minute stroll will bring you to the local pub. The world famous Machrihanish golf course is only three minutes walk where the magnificent new clubhouse has recently been completed. The village also boasts a 4 star hotel and if you fancy a bit of pampering, the hotel spa is also open to the public and has a range of treatments and therapies only two minutes from the cottage.

For anything else you are best hopping in the car and taking a drive to the shops in Campbeltown, which is only 10 minutes away and has two large supermarkets. Campbeltown is close to the Gulf Stream so the temperature is generally above the UK average, shown in the growth of palm trees around the town.

Have a wander around the historic harbour, take a tour around the Museum or catch a film at Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema, the Wee Picture House.

With walks around this amazing rugged landscape including the Kintyre Way which goes past your front door and the beach on your doorstep, Seaview Cottage won't disappoint.

Lovely week away

By Jo on 06-Aug-2022

We cannot recommend sea view cottage enough. It is without doubt one of the best equipment holiday cottages we have stayed in. Super dog friendly and in a stunning location. The owners were wondering solving a plumbing problem which was out of their control even on a Sunday. We will most definitely be back and have recommended several friends to stay.
