Description

We are on the outskirts of the village of Kinloss, close to the shores of the beautiful Moray Firth. It is opposite Blackstob Wood in the west and the great Culbin Forest to the North. It is about 4 miles from Forres in the west and 11 miles from Elgin in the East. ELGIN is an old town with an historic museum and a ruined cathedral. Full of narrow alleys and a really old fashioned cinema. FORRES has many beautiful parks and gardens. A few miles away is PLUSCARDEN, ancient abbey, still in use, and open to visitors.

PARKING. Ample parking in the driveway and outside the garden walls, well-off the main road.

Architecturally designed, with an abundance of large windows, the house is ideal for a family or group of friends who can enjoy its. comfort and style with cherry wood floors, underfloor heating, oriental rugs and carpets throughout. The BEDROOMS have spacious built-in wardrobes.

The open plan reception hall gives access to a bright and well-equipped kitchen. with ample glassware and crockery, including a Minton dinner service.. Just across the hall is the stunning , double height dining room , big windows and expansive views over the open countryside towards Burgie and Brodie.

Step down from the dining room into the bright sitting room with its welcoming woodburning stove. The French doors lead to the decking, the new hot tub and into the large rear garden.

The snug/music room has a full keyboard Yamaha electric piano and DVD library. There is also a portable Freeview TV with built in DVD player, which can be moved into some other rooms if required.. Especially if the kids want to be in their room.

HOT TUB

Can seat 5 . It is new, and installed in 2021 and easy to use. It is fully sanitised before and during your use. There are full instructions in the house guide

Good cycling around the house, along the driveway to the Blackstob woods, without going on the main road.
Crossing the main road. Go along the track opposite, all the way past Hatton farm to the beach and Culbin Forest ,
with wonderful tracks where you can cycle all day.

On the beach, turn West, you can cycle all the way to Findhorn, and explore the massive dune system .
Turn East and you can cycle all the way to the old fishing village of Burghead.
Tide is not a problem and the sand is firm. Ensure you keep enough puff for the cycle home.

It is a short drive to the unspoilt old fishing village of Findhorn, where you can easily spend a day wandering along the marina, a glorious beach along which you can walk all the way to Burghead, past the entire eastern Culbin forest and the massive dune system. Have a splendid dinner in the venerable Kimberly Inn. Super pub grub and real ales.

You can explore the whole of the Moray Firth coastline, which is dotted with beautiful fishing villages, Burghead, Hopeman, Lossiemouth, Buckie and Gardenstown .
Inland there's the whisky trail, which you are in the middle of. Go to Grantown and you can spend several days at different distilleries. All with good restaurants and tea rooms, and free tots.

Speaking of tots, there is a good children's play area in the farm shop , which sells a good range of local produce.. It is 500 yards along therein road, to the left.

A wonderful area to explore from centrally placed Strathnaver cottage.

It should be paid into a nominated bank account. It is normally repaid early on the week following departure. Details are supplied with the welcome pack you receive after the booking is paid up.
