A Devon cream tea welcomes you!
Relax and unwind in this newly refurbished, detached characterful cottage, situated in this quintessential Devon village. Kingston, just a short walk from Wonwell Beach and the stunning Erme Estuary, is a sought after village in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is a thriving community with a pub, church, recreation park and village hall, all within a short walking distance of the cottage. The neighbouring village of Ringmore (a 35 minute walk) has the Journey's End Inn, an award winning pub, offering real ale and excellent food.
Nearby is the magnificent South West coastline, offering fine coastal walks, beaches and coves, with sailing at Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes and Newton Ferrers. 18 hole golf courses are available at Thurlestone and Bigbury, and Dartmoor National Park is within easy reach to the North. Indoor and outdoor tennis is available at the local towns of Ivybridge and Kingsbridge with water sports facilities and lessons at Kingsbridge, Bigbury on Sea, Salcombe and Bantham, all within a 20 minute drive. .
The picturesque Georgian town of Modbury is only 3 miles away. Some two hundred years ago it was extremely prosperous being the local market town and a centre for the wool trade. Today there is a good range of local shops including a butcher, baker, grocers, hardware store, chemist, delicatessen and a number of gift and antique shops. The larger town of Kingsbridge, offering a greater and wider range of recreation and commercial facilities, is approximately 8 miles away.
et in a conservation area, Wheel Row is a large detached property (originally 5 individual cottages) ideal for several families. The property comprises two cottages which have a secret, interconnecting door to form one large house. The property has two kitchens, five bedrooms (three en suite) a bathroom, one cloak room, a large dining room, two living rooms and two utility rooms. A double sofa bed is also available in one of the sitting rooms. There are three staircases in the property, creating private areas for multi generation holidays. Great Classic Holiday Cottage

By Graham on 28-Jul-2023

The two cottages in Kingston were lovely places to stay. Very cosy, well equipped and nicely located for the nearby beaches and walks. Liz and Jerry went out of their way to make our stay memorable and pleasant. We would definitely come back.

Brilliant stay

On arrival there was a beautiful filled hamper, The cottage was in a beautiful quiet village, both cottages were beautiful and clean fitted with everything you need we were a family of 10 (7 adults & 3 children) and there was plenty of space for us all, It was a short drive away from town and beaches. There was a fantastic park and playing field for children a short walk from the cottage.

Wonderful stay in a gorgeous cottage.

Wonderful stay in a gorgeous cottage. All the 8 of us were very well accommodated. A lovely Devon welcome pack was waiting together with much needed milk for tea and essentials so that we didn''t have to rush off to the shops to get the tea! Bedrooms and bathrooms were ample and very comfortable. Lounge was comfortable and all needs were catered for in the cottage which actually was two cottages adjacent with little gardens. The roads around are very difficult to navigate but the walks to the beaches are awesome so well worth not being where all the tourists are! The village has a good size playground. Liz catered so well for us and answered all our queries immediately prior and during our stay.
