Description

There has been a watermill in Llandyfrydog, Anglesey since the 1300's and in 1352 it was possibly called Bodafon Mill. The first reference to Melin Esgob (Bishop's Mill) was in 1425 when the watermill was given to the Bishop of Bangor. Today it's called Melin Esgob Cornmill and is a grade II listed home.

A few years ago, on the site of the old granary store next to the watermill, a new modern Coach House was rebuilt in stone and today it provides superior accommodation for 2 people in an idyllic and tranquil countryside location in a totally unspolit part of Anglesey. Peace and quiet.

Situated just off an unclassified road the Coach House is about 5 miles from Amlwch, 5 miles from Benllech, Moelfre and Red Wharf Bay, 7 miles from Llangefni and the A55 dual carriageway. Numerous beaches and coastal footpath within a few minutes drive and a cycle route outside the Coach House gate.

The ground floor has a fitted kitchen, gas hob and oven, fridge freezer, dining table and a wet room with toilet and washbasin. Upstairs on the first floor is a large open room with velux windows overlooking the gardens and countryside beyond, with sofa, chairs, smart tv and king size bed. There is ample vehicle parking outside the Coachouse.

The weekly prices include bed linen, 2 sets of towels per person, cotton bathrobes, heating, electricity, gas and super fast broadband. It also includes a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bottle of wine and in season Welsh Cakes.

The Coachouse is private, with its own outside seating areas and access to extensive garden grounds with a waterfall and stream. It is located adjacent to Melin Esgob Cornmill with a shared electric gated access.

Melin Esgob Cornmill itself retains many of the original features including the massive water wheel and cast iron cogs that for centuries turned the heavy grinding stones. Artist's paradise?

Walk along quiet country lanes just a short walk from your front door, with sheep and cattle in the fields either side. Wave to friendly farmers passing on their tractors especially when it's time to make hay or silage.

Wildlife in abundance with red squirrel's, night visits from a fox, polecat, rabbits, buzzards, numerous species of birds including woody the resident woodpecker and grey herons.

Sit out in a hidden valley surrounded by undulating countryside and listen to the sound of the water as it passes over the waterfall, relax, have a drink or for the artist's get the brushes out and capture the mill, waterfall or stream as it meanders through the gardens. Serenity.

Anglesey has 125 miles of coastline with blue flag beaches and if you want a day out in Dublin enjoying a pint of the black honey then that is 2 hours away.
Anglesey has a proud history and is known as the Mother of Wales. It rests gracefully on Pre Cambrian forndations in the Irish Sea between Ireland and England. The Gulf Stream ensures the climate of Anglesey is very mild (especially Winter) with exceptional air quality.
Beautiful things are not made, they are created.
Raw beauty, tranquillity and a sky full of surprises bathed in a rainbow of colours.
A place where mortals can absorb its extreme power, fire their souls and thrill their minds with its peaceful energy.
Explore Anglesey and discover beauty.
Nothing ordinary about this island.

Wonderful Accommodation

The lodge is beautifully designed with comfort in abundance inside and out. The kitchen is well equipped and a delight to cook in, the master bedroom on the ground floor is astoundingly comfortable The living area oozes class and style and the decked area outside has a wonderful view over a lake with the use of a gas BBQ if the weather permits. The lodge is ideally suited for a peaceful relaxing break with countless beaches just a 1/2 hour drive away - we will definitely return next year and cannot recommend this lovely lodge highly enough Recommended for: People with Disabilities, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

Great modern holiday home

By Jo T on 06-Jun-2015

Jo T. said... 6 Jun 2015 Wonderful stay at the lodge (again!) Parc Cefni, Bodffordd, Llangefni, Anglesey, LL77 7PJ, United Kingdom Date of Stay 26 May 2015 We've list track of how many times we've stayed here now as we keep returning year on year. Great modern holiday home, all mod cons, huge tv with all sky package for evenings in and big space enough for 6 or even just as a couple . The location is great as a base for exploring the island as 10miles or less and which way will take you to a beach. There are great views over the lake also which you can walk around in just over an hour at a brisk pace. Arthur and rhian always very friendly and welcoming. We've brought family members in the past who also love it and would return again. Peaceful in the evenings and feels like a home from home
