Description

Hedgehope Cottage is an inviting and surprisingly spacious self-catering holiday cottage tucked away on Fiddler’s Green- close to village amenities and yet a stone’s throw from the beach. The cottage sleeps up to six* people in three bedrooms, has a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable outdoor seating area and cosy sitting room with log burning stove.
*please note that from 2022 the room configuration will change and the cottage will sleep 5 people across 3 bedrooms

Kitchen Diner
With dual aspect, the modern kitchen has everything needed to cook up a storm. Fully equipped with large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave and plenty of cutlery and crockery. For the full kitchen inventory please click here. The dining table seats six on comfortable chairs for those relaxed holiday suppers- or just to play one of the games from the selection kept in the kitchen dresser. There is a door opening onto the rear courtyard where you can lounge on the outdoor seating with your morning coffee or while away the time with your holiday read.



Sitting Room
The comfortable sofas and armchair provide plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to relax and enjoy the warmth of the log burning stove (fuel for this is included), or maybe you would prefer watching a film on the smart TV with a glass of the local tipple in hand. For those wet and windy days there is a PlayStation and games library to keep you busy.



King Bedroom
At the front of the house with a comfortable king-size bed and reading lamps on tables to either side. A large built-in wardrobe provides plenty of hanging space and houses two chests of drawers- overpacking is no issue here. A dressing table with mirror and hair dryer. Please note that all of the bedding at Hedgehope Cottage is hypoallergenic and bed linens are provided within the rental cost.

Twin Room
A bright and airy room with two full-size single beds, each with their own bedside table and reading lamps. This room also has a built-in wardrobe and further chest of drawers and a mirror. The window faces towards the mainland over the quiet Fiddler’s Green.


Single Room
A cosy room with full-size single bed, suitable for children and adults alike. The room has a built-in wardrobe as well as chest of drawers, providing ample storage for your stay. This room has a window overlooking the courtyard and benefits from the morning sun.


Bathroom
A light and bright bathroom completes the upstairs. There is a bath to have a soak in after a long day exploring the Island, with both hand-held and wall mounted showers. The heated towel rail will house your hand towel and bathmat on arrival- another home from home comfort that Hedgehope provides. Please note that we do not provide guest bath towels as standard, however they can be provided at an additional cost – please order in advance. There is a shaver socket available and the modern boiler ensures there is always plenty of hot water.



Outside
To the rear of the cottage there is a courtyard with rattan furniture for our guests to lounge on, maybe for a scrumptious afternoon tea or a summer evening barbeque. There is further outdoor furniture kept in the under stairs cupboard, the cushions for the rattan furniture can also be found here. The sheltered courtyard provides a peaceful haven for local wildlife and even the seals from nearby St Cuthbert’s beach can be heard whistling away in the background.
