Harlech has a famous Castle, Leisure Centre, many interesting shops including antiques, furnishings/fabrics, numerous restaurants, cafes and takeaways. It also has one of the finest 18 hole golf course in the World, Royal St David's, established in 1894, a beautiful Links Course, a 5 minute drive, and ranked in the “Top 50” of Golf Courses in the world, and recently ranked 2nd in Wales by Golf World. Much of the course can be seen from Glas Annedd. Harlech has its own Railway Station on the Cambrian Main line that joins the Llyn Peninsular, south through central Wales to Shrewsbury and Birmingham.

The property offers comfortable accommodation and overlooks the Llyn Peninsula, and the beautiful Tremadog Bay, boasting fabulous panoramic views of the sea, beaches and mountains, including Mount Snowdon.

A ten mile drive to the north is Porthmadog, passing the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Porthmadog is home of the Blanneau Ffestiniog Steam Railway & Welsh Highland Railway, and is the gateway to magnificent Llyn Peninsula and to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park. Hundreds of superb coastal, lakeside and mountain walks are located within 1 hours drive of your “home” for the week.

10 miles to the south of the property is Barmouth, a bustling harbour town with its famous railway, pedestrian and cyclist bridge (over 800 metres long) leading to the beautiful Mawdach Estuary Walk to Dolgellau, a 10 mile flat walk or cycle, catch a bus back, or return again along the same route for a 20 mile walk or cycle. Cycles can be hired from Barmouth or Dolgellau.

The Mawdach Ardudwy Trail is one of the best walking areas in North Wales, a linear 24 mile upland walk between Barmouth and Llandecwyn. The walk can be undertaken in stages using the local bus. This Trail can be picked up less than 100 metres from the back of the property.

A very impressive property which was exceptionally well presented.

By Stephen Cook on 27-Aug-2022

The property enjoys simply stunning views of the sea and the Llyn Peninsula and sunsets were beautiful. Harlech town a 5 minute walk with lovely Cafes and an excellent ice cream parlour. Harlech beach very close and Black rock sands about a 30 minute drive. Also close to Snowdon, Portmadoc, and the village of Portmerion which is famous for its Italian architecture. For the more adventurous there is a massive zip wire complex near Blaenau Ffestiniog. Altogether a great base to explore the Snowdonia area.

Fabulous Stay at Glas Annedd, Harlech, North Wales

By Siobhan Wheeler on 06-Aug-2022

First time up in North Wales for a family holiday and from the moment we stepped into Glas Annedd, we felt at home. The house was immaculately cleaned, had all the home comforts and extras! Beach chairs, plenty of games, coffee maker with coffee pods and some food necessities & treats, lots of fluffy towels and washing products, handy leaflets and maps. The little extras such as food bags and a cool bag were greatly appreciated too. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept extremely well. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water when needed. The views from the property were amazing, we sat outside every day and evening, soaking up the sun and eating outside too. There was plenty of space for our dogs and they were safe outside as the garden is walled and fenced off. Elizabeth kindly left out a dog bed and treats as well! Harlech is walking distance from the property and is a lovely little town. It has quaint shops, including a fantastic deli and restaurants. However important to book restaurants in advance, as very busy through the summer! Thank you Elizabeth for being a fabulous host, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glas Annedd *****
