Description

Cedar-built, single-storey house, which sleeps six. On the edge of the picturesque medieval village of Soumartre, near Faugères and Bédarieux. With a pretty, terraced garden and private swimming pool. The house is in a very tranquil location and has beautiful views over the hilly, forested Parc Régional and the vineyards of Faugères. The house has three bedrooms, two double (one with en-suite WC and shower) and one twin, a bathroom, a utility room with a shower and washing machine, and a spacious and airy open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, which opens onto a wooden veranda and outdoor dining area. The house is a ten-minute drive to the bustling town of Bédarieux, with its supermarkets and restaurants. The beautiful valleys of the Orb and Mare rivers are nearby, leading into the forested mountains and gorges of the Haut-Languedoc. To the south, wide sandy beaches are less than 45 minutes away.

Secluded in Soumartre

A wonderful property in a great location. Lovely and peaceful with fantastic views. Close enough to excellent facilities in Bedarieaux for families and in the middle of a beautiful rural location. A large well maintained property extremely clean with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Close to Pezenas and Montpellier both excellent places to visit as well as within striking distance of Aigues Morte and Le Grau Du Roi. Make sure you try a variety of local Faugeres wines to find one you like. Marseillaise Plage great for swimming and Sete great for seafood. Visit the national park for the outstanding scenery and secluded villages and just take the time to explore some of the back roads to see the best views. We had a marvellous time and would heartily recommend this property to anyone. As a family it was a real bonus to have wifi to get the children's Kindles, IPods and other gizmos going not to mention the pool, a welcome break after a hot day travelling. 09/03/2013 at 7:05 PM

It was perfect!! The location was good & easy to find and close to Lakes & beach. The house was lovely with fantastic views and well stocked. There's not much in Soumartre but its a quiet pretty village. I would definitely go back. 08/25/2013 at 4:23 PM

A lovely villa in a great location

We had a really enjoyable week. The house is very spacious and extremely well equipped. It's in a beautiful setting with great local walks (take the path at the bottom of the drive towards Fougeres for some terrific views), and relatively easy reach of the coast with excellent beaches, lakes with good watersports, and the Languedoc hills and gorges.
