Description

This centrally-located cottage is in the very heart of the Royal Port of Dartmouth, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and with the River Dart literally on your doorstep, just a stones throw from so many watersports for all the family. Just a short drive and you can be at one of many stunning beaches, or take a circular cruise sailing the lower part of the River Dart viewing the castles at the estuary, Britannia Royal Naval College and towards Agatha Christie's Greenway Estate.
The space
Walk through the porch into the flagstone hallway and the first bedroom is on your left. This spacious superking bedroom, has its own en suite shower room and incredible views out across the town and the River Dart.

Continue down the hallway to the spacious open-plan family kitchen/diner with access to the beautiful walled courtyard garden and picturesque water feature. There is an outside dining area and why not bring some logs for the wood-fired pizza oven to create a fun filled outdoors after a day on the water.

Back inside, the open plan kitchen is fully equipped with all you need for a family lunch or a traditional roast. The characterful dining area complete with low ceilings and wood beams is the perfect space to kick back and relax on those wetter cooler days.

On the first floor the large living room at the front of the property has stunning views across the town and over to Kingswear, which is just a short ferry trip across the River Dart and all within walking distance! The living room has plenty of comfy seating - perfect for enjoying a game of cards or relaxing in front of the television.

At the back of the house is the second smaller bedroom next to the main bathroom with a traditional roll top bath ready for a lovely long soak after a day on the water.

On the second floor, walk in to the spacious bedroom built under the eaves. Recently renovated this top floor space has yet another ensuite shower and access to an amazing balcony with table and chairs ready to watch the sun go down.

This remarkable property is more than just a cottage, it's the home that keeps on giving and is perfect for multigenerational stays with something for everyone. It's the kind of place where you and your family will make those memories that become myths and legends and keep you returning, year after year. What's not to love!

Please note, parking can be difficult during peak times in Dartmouth wherever you might stay but this property does have 3 spaces in front of it and if you are lucky, you might manage to have one. If this isn't the case, then there is more parking along the embankment, throughout the town and a park-and-ride at the top of Dartmouth.

Also, the property is located next door to the wonderful Floating Bridge. This pub has great food and a great atmosphere and is right on the doorstep but this also means that there maybe noise experienced which is out of our control. Please be aware that there is also an extractor fan that is on during certain times of the day.

We stayed for a week at New year

By Jo on 09-Jan-2023

We stayed for a week at New year. 6 of us, 2 Grandparents, 2 teenagers, myself, Hubby & 3 dogs. Great for the dogs as there is a park right opposite. I always struggle to find the ‘perfect’ accommodation, this house ticked every box for us. My parents are in their 80’s so the ground floor bedroom with en suite was perfect for them not having to do too many trips up the stairs! The kitchen had everything for our needs, and more. We don’t eat out every night so being able to cook meals for us all was a pleasure, it was very well equipped definitely home from home. The kids had their own room and bathroom, we had the large room and en suite on the second floor - perfect! The living room hit the spot too as it had lots of comfortable seating. We were lucky with the parking and got both cars outside for the week. The house was spotlessly clean, it was a real pleasure to stay here and we will defo be going back!
