Description

As its name implies La Vieile Ferme was the old farmhouse when we bought La Julerie in 2000. Our son Tim who was our builder, and undertook all of the conversion work at La Julerie, removed an internal wall in this gite to create one large groundfloor room. Entrance is through a small hallway into this large living room with its corner kitchen, dining and also salon areas; there is a washroom with basin and toilet.

If you are coming with a large party and are booking more than one gite, La Vieille Ferme will be one of the gites you must book as there is plenty of room for up to 24 people to sit together if tables are brought in from the other gites. For all bookings of less than a full week guests pay for 1 night longer than they stay

Upstairs offers 1 double bedroom, one with twin beds and a 3rd bedroom with bunk beds; a cot is kept erected in this bedroom. One bathroom has bath & basin whilst the other has shower, basin & toilet. There is a also a separate toilet on this floor With central heating and also a wood burner this gite will make ideal holiday accommodation all year.

This gite has patios both in front and behind the property and a terraced lawned garden alongside. Invariably the wooden patio furniture will be left on the front patio as this is the warmest area at La Julerie, but some guest prefer to move it to the rear patio- the choice is yours!

Adjoining the gites you will find the large games room in which there is a table tennis table, a seating area, there is a section of books and some games and quite a few toys for the younger children; to the rear of the room there are 2 shower changing rooms and also a toilet. For security reasons access to the swimming pool is only through the games room; the pool is over 9m long by 4m width and has a level depth of approx 1.65m, at one end there are a set of Roman steps to give easy access and around the other 3 sides there are 2 narrow steps to assist one in getting out. With the level bottom it means that parents can stand anywhere in the pool and assist their children/infants to learn to swim; another feature of the pool is it has sliding glass panels which are opened in fine weather; I therefore describe the pool as indoor/outdoor. The level bottom and the sliding panels have proved to be a very popular features. The pool area is surrounded on 3 sides by a walled patio on which there are sun loungers
There is a large garden area with an elevated play station with swings, slide a fireman's pole etc for the elder children and a sandpit and playhouse for the younger children.

La Julerie is a mere 2km from Corseul & 10km from the historic town of Dinan. The lovely beaches of the "Cote d'Amor" are only 20km away. La Julerie is situated in a quiet rural setting away from main roads. As it slopes gently to the south it is a natural sun-trap. Over the past20 years we have seen and listed over 60 different types of birds as the buildings attract many swallows.


At night time you will hear the owls, not cars! Our gites make an ideal location for families or groups who want to relax and enjoy Brittany's charms in peaceful surroundings
