Forget-Me-Knot Cottage is a pretty 1860’s Fisherman’s Holiday Cottage in Brixham, South Devon with breath taking sea view’s over the Harbour and is a short walk to the town and waterfront.
The cottage is immaculately furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Sleeping 4 (which can be over 3 bedrooms) it boasts a comfy king size bed in the master bedroom and includes free WIFI and sky tv.
The sun terrace at the front of the cottage is perfect for relaxing in the afternoons sunshine with views across the bay and looks equally as pretty at night whilst watching the sunset over the harbour and the twinkling lights of Torquay and South Furzeham.
As well as a fabulous place for summer holidays, Forget-Me-Knot Cottage also makes a great place for a cosy winter getaway with the log effect fire, cosy cottage furnishings and central heating you can snuggle down, relax and take in the period charm.
The country cottage kitchen at the rear of the property has everything you need for a home from home, there is a semi-outdoor downstairs cloakroom to save you dashing up the stairs, very handy for families with little ones. Through the rear courtyard you can find steps to the raised terraced garden at the back.
The bathroom has a full-size bath, separate shower, wc and sink with built in cupboard.
The spacious master bedroom has a king size bed, built in wardrobes, a pretty dressing table and a rocking chair looking out to sea with an equally lovely second bedroom with double bed looking over the terraced garden at the back of the cottage.
The light and spacey nautical loft room with the most amazing views out to sea can be enjoyed sat in the tub chairs in the window, there is a desk and chair if you need to work whilst staying at the cottage and a sofa to cosy up with a good book. You can look out of the picture window to the other side of Brixham and All Saints Church, open the window a crack at 8pm and you can hear the bells ringing Henry Francis Lytes hymn ‘abide with me’ which was written in Brixham, just magical!
It is a 2 minute walk down the 86 steps opposite the cottage to the town & harbour and a 10 minute flat walk through the quaint streets of Brixham or grab the car and take a 2 minute drive to the central carpark in the centre of town.
Brixham is host to many festivals and trawler races throughout the year and has its own beautiful outdoor ‘Shoalstone Pool’ only a short walk from the cottage. From the cottage you can see the ‘Golden Hind’ museum ship which you can board and step back in step time to the days of Sir Francis Drake.
Forget-Me-Knot Cottage is dog friendly and welcomes 1-2 dogs to stay for Free! There are plenty of dog friendly beaches and coastal walks in Torbay with Berryhead national park only a walk away and Dartmoor a short drive. Many excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants can be found in the harbour and almost everywhere locally is dog friendly, they can even join you for dinner in most places.
